On the 13th October, 2013, my journey as an Entrepreneur Started. I was 16 at the time, and a very different person than I was then. You see when you go through the process of an Entrepreneur, it isn’t what people first perceive it as. I am one of those people. I always saw entrepreneurship as a person, very driven, ambitious, often young and good looking, hits it big with a million dollar idea.
It could not be further from the truth. This is what I have learnt from my journey so far and I haven’t even finished half way point. I wanted to write this book, for many reasons, but the main two reasons would be for my own personal reflection. I love reflecting on my past actions and learning from them going forward on present and future projects. The other reason is that I want to inspire, give someone a first hand account of entrepreneurship, that hasn’t been filtered with a fancy instagram filter or a glistening version of the dream, because it isn’t. Its hard, its challenging, it annoys the hell out of you sometimes (Put kindly), it ages you, makes you angry 90% of the time, makes you question why the hell you want to become an entrepreneur. If you feel at least half of these emotions, then you are doing it right.
Entrepreneurship is also bloody fun! I love it. It has made me annoyed and angry, but I enjoy the process, the A to B and in-between, the journey to the goal. The challenge is what I thrive on. Almost like proving my skills to people. Actually scrap that it is about proving myself to people. Showing people what you can do. Flexing your strengths, exposing the weaknesses, and finding people that fit you like a jigsaw puzzle. Thats what you need in entrepreneurship and something I shall explain further as you read on.
Im no expert. Please don’t read this as an academic read as its not. I have no PhD In Entrepreneurship, and I am by far no expert in Entrepreneurship and to be honest, who is? This is a text based on my understanding and my take on my Entrepreneurial journey so far, that I hope to inspire people with, put some concerns and myths to bed, help myself reflect and my team mates reflect on the years past, as Entrepreneurship can be rather quick and speedy and things can get forgotten, hence why I love reflecting!
So here goes, heres my story, its a work in progress, but its still nonetheless, a story. One I am proud of and one that I will always regard as the best journey of my life so far. This was only just the beginning.
This is the first extract from a book I have been writing that I have finished half way, and will be published at the end of the year. Its been something I have wanted to do for a while and finally have got down to doing it!
So watch Out, I may publish some more extracts from it on here soon, but this is just the start.
